Mom 2.0: Better than Ever for Brands & Bloggers

Last week I had the privilege of traveling to Atlanta and attending one of the premier mom blogging conferences, the Mom 2.0 Summit. Billed as an open conversation between moms, marketers and media, this conference draws 500+ influencers, including thought leaders such as Heather Armstrong of Dooce, Liz Gumbinner of Mom 101, and Kristen Howerton of Rage Against the Minivan, to name just a few.

This year, sponsoring brands, including Dove and Best Buy, engaged with bloggers in new and innovative ways. The conference’s title sponsor, Dove, offered their own workshops focusing on empowerment and confidence for women and partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Atlanta to provide kids’ with an interactive experience focusing on positive self-image. The subject matter resonated with bloggers at Mom 2.0 and beyond, evidenced by comments using Dove’s hashtag, #BeautyIs.

Meanwhile, Best Buy stood out in a way relevant for its brand by offering professional headshots with styling services, which had bloggers lining up. That time in line gave Best Buy the opportunity to educate bloggers on the newest electronics available at Best Buy.

Packed with thought-provoking sessions, bloggers rely on Mom 2.0 (and select other conferences) to hone their blogging skills. New this year, Mom 2.0 Summit, partnering with, launched the Iris Awards to honor parent bloggers for video, photography, sponsored content and other categories. The top award, the Vanguard, went to Heather Armstrong of Dooce, a pioneer and outstanding contributor to the parent blogging space.

Mom 2.0 Summit continues to draw the best of the best content creators, bloggers serious about their craft and influencers who want to forge meaningful relationships with brands – a reason for both bloggers and brands to return to Mom 2.0 in 2015.
