Media Go ‘Wild’ for Ranger Rick
Published by the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), Ranger Rick is one of the country’s longest-running, most-loved children’s magazines of all time, having educated and entertained generations of kids about the wonders of wildlife and importance of preserving nature.
To introduce Ranger Rick to a new generation, NWF tapped 360PR to launch a suite of Ranger Rick products, including a junior edition of the magazine for developing readers (ages 3-7) and two iPad apps: Ranger Rick Jr. Appventures and Ranger Rick’s Tree House.
360PR developed a multi-tiered media strategy aimed at engaging a range of media and bloggers – publishing, parenting, education and tech. We gave each of them a stake in the story and the resulting national coverage drove downloads and subscriptions, with today’s families getting to know Ranger Rick and NWF’s mission in all-new ways. Among those who covered were The New York Times, The TODAY Show, The Associated Press, USA TODAY, Parents, WIRED, Mashable and Entertainment Weekly. An added 50+ reviews on mom blogs and tech sites helped quadruple traffic to NWF’s web site.
